The below link is a relaxing and productive at home project that I want to remember. It has 29 questions to ask yourself in order to get to know YOU better. My answers are below and I’m feeling really happy with how they turned out. It took me about 1.5 hours to complete and I’m glad I did 🙂
What activity in your life lights you up with joy? Being able to experience a great run, along with spending time with family + friends.
What is something you always love doing, even when you are tired or rushed? Why? Blogging, without a doubt. As an introvert, blogging is my ‘quiet time’ and a place just for me. It feels safe and calms me. It’s also comforting to know this blog is like my diary, in web form.
If a relationship or job makes you unhappy, do you choose to stay or leave?
I don’t leave without giving it my all. I don’t want to walk away from anything without knowing I did everything I could (on my end) to make it work.
What do you fear about leaving a bad job or a bad relationship? Leaving a bad job would potentially provide me with fears of not finding another job quick enough to pay my bills and/or live a comfortable life.
Walking away from a bad relationship is something I’ve done before. It obviously means going through heartache, which comes with saying goodbye to something familiar. It’s not easy, but absolutely necessary.
Ultimately I’ve learned my job and relationship both need to enrich my life with positivity. If I’m miserable, why keep them in my life? Often times, the correct decision isn’t easy.
What do you believe is possible for you? I believe it is possible to live a happy, positive and grateful life with my loved ones.
What have you done in your life that you are most proud of? I took control of my life, for me and for the better. I made the necessary changes then endured a cold, dark and lonely road. I forgave myself for the mistakes I made. lost a few friends along the way (due to that situation) and came out stronger because of it. I grew a back-bone! I stuck up for myself. I am certain I did the right thing (for me).
What is the thing that you are second most proud of? Getting balanced and healthy! I exercise (or run) at least 5x per week. I make sure to get enough sleep every night. I get to work on time, work my butt off and leave around 5pm. Balance is key for me. I take vitamins, get adjusted and drink plenty of water. I eat healthy but allow a treat here and there 😉 I am kind but have self-respect. I’ve come a long way in the past 10 years.
What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? I want people to remember me as a genuinely kind person, but one that can stand up for herself (respectfully). I want people to know that I struggled with introversion, perfectionism, anxiety and balance on a daily basis.
Side Note: Colby is the one person who truly knows the ‘raw’ me. He has seen me at my worst. He’s viewed my screaming, crying, negative word vomit outbursts….and still accepts me… for me. He is the one person in my life who hasn’t asked me to change. The raw me works for him and I can honestly say that I am blessed for having a man like him, love me.
How does your being here in the universe change humanity for the better? I try to make people content by being kind or by making them laugh. Every now and then, a goofy side of me shows itself which has made my family and friends laugh. I wouldn’t go that far by saying I ‘change humanity,’ but hopefully I put a positive wind into the world.
If you could have one single wish granted, what would it be? I would wish to go back in time and ‘right a few wrongs’ that occurred.
How comfortable are you with your own mortality? Honest: I am often uncomfortable. It’s just the person I am. Each day I really have to dig deep to not take life too seriously.
What is your highest core value? Balance. 100%!
To your best knowledge, how do other people perceive you? Guarded, with out divulging too much personal information.
How would you like others to perceive you? Balanced, kind and genuine.
How confident are you in your abilities to make decisions for yourself? Extremely confident! I’m a big girl 😉
What is your biggest self-limiting belief? That everything I do has to be perfect.
Who is the most important person in your life? CWD.
Who is your greatest role model? Wives, mothers and hard working women who do it all while making it look easy.
Who is a person that you don’t like yet you spend time with? Anyone who is negative, high-strung and judgmental. You’ll see me running fast the the opposite direction.
What is something that is true for you no matter what? BALANCE IS KEY.
What is your moral compass in making difficult decisions? What is the right thing to do? What is my heart telling me?
What is one failure that you have turned into your greatest lesson? My divorce, hands down.
What role does gratitude play in your life? A daily role.
How do you feel about your parents? I feel extremely blessed to call them my parents.
How is your relationship with money? I have a budget that I follow to the T. During Christmas, traveling and tax season, I get very nervous if money gets too low.
How do you feel about growing old someday? As an old soul, I’m looking forward to aging. As a 30 year old woman, I’m not excited to see my looks twirl down the drain. Ultimately, looks aren’t everything – oh how true that fact rings!
What role has formal education played in your life and how do you feel about it? My education has been the stepping stones in shaping who I am today. I’m not ‘street smart,’ or the brightest crayon in the box. But give me material to study and I’ll ace any test you throw my way. I did very well in school because I gave (and still give) a crap.
Do you believe your destiny is pre-determined or in your hands to shape however you wish? I do believe our destiny is pre-determined, however I don’t believe that gives us a hall pass to turn into slobs. We definitely have control over choosing to live lazy or productive lives.
What do you believe is the meaning of your life? I believe we are here to constantly push ourselves, but know when we need to rest. I think we strive be happy, but know sad times are inevitable. In regards to my life, I know I am here to constantly work on BALANCE.
Until next time 🙂 xo cmm
